Strengthening technical capacities and transferring knowledge 

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – A delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management has paid a working visit to Bari with the goal of strengthening cooperation and further developing Montenegro’s agricultural sector.

 

The delegation, led by Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Vladimir Jokovic visited Italy at the invitation of the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies – CIHEAM Bari, and attended the international fair Agrilevante 2025in cooperation with FederUnacoma.

 

“The delegation had the opportunity to learn about the latest achievements in the fields of sustainable agriculture, digitalization, and innovation, and to exchange experiences with Italian institutions and partners, with the aim of strengthening cooperation and further developing Montenegro’s agricultural sector in line with European standards,” the Ministry stated in a press release.


Jokovic met with the Director of CIHEAM Bari Biagio Di Terlizzi to discuss defining specific areas of future cooperation aimed at improving local production, developing innovative practices, strengthening technical capacities, and facilitating the transfer of knowledge and technologies.

 

Opportunities for scholarships for Montenegrin students were also presented, along with initiatives for joint research and professional work in the fields of agriculture and rural development.

 

As part of the international fair Agrilevante 2025, Jokovic also held a meeting with the Italian Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida, during which both sides confirmed their readiness to continue and enhance bilateral cooperation, as well as Italy’s support for Montenegro’s European integration path.
