Slano dam solar park marks a new step in Montenegro’s energy transition     

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to EPCG Solar Gradnja, the solar park under construction on the Slano dam marks a significant step forward in Montenegro’s ongoing energy transition.

 

Senior management of Elektroprivreda (EPCG), EPCG Solar Gradnja, together with Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandic, and Mayor of Niksic Marko Kovacevic visited the Slano Lake dam, where installation of a 2.5 MW solar park is currently underway.

 

EPCG Solar Gradnja stated in a press release that the visit was led by Milutin Djukanovic, Chairman of the EPCG Board of Directors, along with guests who expressed their support for projects that contribute to local development, job creation, and the strengthening of Montenegro’s energy independence.

 

Chair of the EPCG Solar Gradnja Board of Directors Marina Jocic said she was very proud of the project. 

 

“I am very proud. This project is being implemented under challenging conditions, on steep terrain, and it truly represents a masterpiece. I am particularly pleased with the dedication of the workers, who even work on Saturdays to take full advantage of favorable weather conditions,” Jocic said.

 

The press release states that the Slano dam solar park is another key step by EPCG toward increasing the share of renewable energy sources and strengthening Montenegro’s energy independence. The company remains a vital partner in all of EPCG’s strategic solar energy projects.
