Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – From the beginning of May to the end of August, tax inspectors carried out 3,120 inspections and identified irregularities with 567 taxpayers.

“As a result, 752 misdemeanor fines were issued, totaling €2.3 million. Liabilities based on these fines amounted to €1.9 million, of which €881,200, or 47.4 percent, was collected,” the Tax Administration stated in a press release.

Fines were collected from taxpayers who accepted responsibility for the violations and paid the fines within eight days, benefiting from a one-third reduction under the Law on Misdemeanors.

A ban on conducting business was imposed on 26 taxpayers.

The PU noted that intensified inspections of private accommodation providers had been carried out during the summer tourist season. 

Since the beginning of the season, 200 inspections were conducted, uncovering 103 violations, resulting in fines totalling €213,000.
