Podgorica, (MINA) – European Alliance MP Boris Mugosa has called on the parliamentary Administrative Committee to withdraw the proposed list of candidates for the Council of Radio and Television of Montenegro (RTCG), stating that it includes Veselin Drljevic, who cannot be elected to the position following a final judgment convicting him of abuse of office.
He recalled that the Podgorica High Court upheld the ruling of the Basic Court, which convicted Drljevic and several members of the RTCG Council for abuse of office, making that decision legally binding.
Mugosa said that the proposal of the Administrative Committee for the appointment of members of the RTCG Council is currently in parliamentary procedure and that Drljevic is also on that list.
“The Parliament cannot vote on the proposed list of candidates that includes a candidate who cannot be elected as a member of the Council. The Administrative Committee must withdraw its proposed list”, Mugosa said.
He recalled that the final verdict also includes the current member of the RTCG Council, Naod Zoric, who, in his view, no longer meets the requirements for performing that function.
“The Administrative Committee must initiate proceedings to dismiss Noad Zoric, but we certainly expect him to resign in order to facilitate the whole process”, said Mugosa.
