Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The average net salary in Montenegro amounted to nearly €1,030 in February, 0.1 percent less than in January.

According to the Statistical Office, the average net salary increased by 2.3 percent compared to last year’s corresponding period. 

The average gross salary reached nearly €1,230 in February.

“Given that, compared with January, the consumer prices increased by 0.2 percent in February, the real wages in Montenegro decreased by 0.3 percent in this period,” Monstat said in a press release.  

In February, average net salaries increased in the fields of electricity and gas supply and air conditioning, mining and quarrying, education, wholesale and retail trade, maintenance of motor vehicles and motorcycles, transport and warehousing, processing industry, information 

and communications, and real estate.

In the same period, average net salaries decreased in the fields of agriculture, forestry and fisheries, other services, administrative and supporting services, healthcare and social welfare, accommodation and food services, art, entertainment and recreation, public administration and defence: mandatory social insurance, water supply, wastewater management, civil engineering, professional, scientific and technical activities.
