Mitrovic: Anniversary drives further network and digital service development

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – One Montenegro is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the first mobile call this year, which serves as an incentive for further development of the network, digital services, and innovation, said the company’s Executive Director, Branko Mitrovic, adding that the previous period was marked by intensive investments.

He stated that the first mobile call in Montenegro was made on 10 July 1996, which marked the beginning of the modern communications era in the country, while for One that date symbolizes continuity, reliability, and trust earned every day.

“We have gone through different phases and identities, from ProMonte, through Telenor, to today’s One brand, but the essence remains the same: responsibility toward the people who have entrusted us with something very personal – their connection with others and with the world,” Mitrovic said in an interview with the Mina-business agency.

According to him, this anniversary is not only an opportunity to celebrate past successes, but also an incentive for further development of the network, digital services, and innovation, so that the company can continue to provide users with a reliable, simple, and valuable experience in every One moment.

Thirty years later, mobile communication has become part of daily routine and often goes unnoticed, but remains fundamentally important. Behind that “normality” lie decades of technological change and growing responsibility.

“At One, these are what we call ‘One moments,’ moments when technology connects people, enables problem-solving, or sparks new stories. Each of those moments reminds us that user confidence is not given, but earned every day,” Mitrovic said.

Speaking about the current position of One Montenegro in the domestic telecommunications market and how it differs most from competitors, Mitrovis said that today the company has a stable and recognizable position in the domestic market, based on network quality, innovation, and long-standing customer trust.

He added that that the Montenegrin market is mature, saturated, and highly competitive, with a high level of commercial activity and very well-informed users.

Mitrovic believes that there is no room for improvisation in such an environment, and that operators differentiate themselves through consistency, quality, and the ability to respond to growing customer expectations over the long term.

Speaking about user expectations and how One Montenegro responds to them, he said they are very clear: users want a reliable and fast network that works without exceptions, a simple and intuitive user experience, and a feeling that they get real value for their money. In other words, technology must work flawlessly, and interaction with the operator must be fast, clear, and human-oriented.

When asked whether the company plans new services or innovative packages that will mark the upcoming period, Mitrovic responded that One has always been recognized as a leader in applying modern technologies and a driver of digital innovation in the Montenegrin market.

“It is precisely on those foundations that we build our plans for the next period. In the modern telecommunications environment,” Mitrovic said, adding that the company does not pursue innovation for its own sake, but to deliver a simpler, faster, and higher-quality user experience.
