Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Without decent work, there can be no stability, development, or European future, said Montenegro’s President Jakov Milatovic.

Speaking at the May Day Trade Union Academy organized by the Union of Free Trade Unions (USSCG), he said that 1 May is not only a celebration of work.

“We celebrate the people who support their families, build their communities, and keep the state standing through their work. If they lack security, Montenegro does too. If they have dignity, so does Montenegro,” Milatovic said.

According to a press release from his Public Relations Office, Milatovic spoke about the importance of work, the position of workers, and the challenges faced by modern society. 

He recalled the historical struggle for workers’ rights and the universal principles that emerged from it.

Milatovic placed particular emphasis on the modern challenges workers face and the need to ensure a decent life.
