Member of high-risk criminal group arrested in Croatia

 

Podgorica, (MINA) – A Montenegrin national and member of the high-risk criminal group V.L. (28) was arrested on Monday in Croatia, based on the international warrant issued by Interpol Podgorica, the Police Administration announced.

The press release states that V.L., who was on the run since April 21, was arrested in coordination between the police forces of Montenegro and Croatia.

The police stated that V.L. was wanted to secure his presence in criminal proceedings that are being conducted against him before the Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT) on suspicion of committing the criminal offences of forming a criminal organization and aggravated murder as accomplice.

He is suspected of being part of an organized criminal group that was prosecuted last week by the Special Police Department and SDT for six criminal offences against life and limb committed in Montenegro between 2017 and 2019.

The Police Administration thanked their Croatian colleagues for their prompt response following the exchange of operational and intelligence information.
