Milovic sentenced to four years in prison, Novakovic to seven

Podgorica, (MINA) – Former police official Ljubo Milovic was sentenced on Friday by the Podgorica High Court to four years in prison for creating a criminal organization, while his former colleague Marko Novakovic received seven years for abuse of office and creating a criminal organization.

The court found both guilty in the case in which the Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT) charged them with being linked to the Kavac criminal clan and providing information to its leader Radoje Zvicer, the Vijesti portal reports.

The court also ordered the defendants to be detained.

The SDT charged Milovic and Novakovic with knowingly, during 2020, assisting Zvicer and other members of the criminal organization by collecting and forwarding information on Jovan Vukotic’s movements.

This is the first sentence handed down to Milovic. Several other criminal proceedings are pending against him, while he has remained at large since July 2022.
