Maskovic: Opposition demands special session of Capital City Assembly

Podgorica, (MINA) - The opposition in the Capital City Assembly has submitted an initiative to convene a special session of the local parliament, seeking answers from the mayor and representatives of the local government regarding the political situation, as well as the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Botun.

Chair of the European Alliance (ES) councilors’ club, Milos Maskovic, said that the opposition councilors believe that it is necessary for them, and therefore for the citizens, to be informed about numerous issues of immediate importance for the functioning of the Capital City.

“These include the matters related to the construction and functioning of wastewater treatment plants, the implementation of key infrastructure projects, as well as the responsible management of public resources and funds at the disposal of the Capital City”, Maskovic stated in a press release.

He explained that the opposition councilors decided to take this step because the session Mayor Sasa Mujovic had announced for the beginning of September has not been scheduled.

The initiative to hold a sepcial session was signed by councilors of the EA, the Democratic Party of Socialists, the Party of European Progress and the Civic Movement URA.
