Podgorica, (MINA) – France will continue to support Montenegro in the final stage of its EU accession process, French President Emmanuel Macron said in a letter to his Montenegrin counterpart Jakov Milatovic.

According to the press release from Milatovic’s office, Macron sent a letter of thanks to the Montenegrin president following his bilateral visit to Montenegro and participation in the EU-Western Balkans Summit.

Macron expressed gratitude to Milatovic for the warm reception extended to him and the members of the French delegation, stressing that during the visit he especially valued the open dialogue and numerous opportunities to exchange opinions.

“I sincerely thank you for your attention, as well as for your exceptional hospitality throughout the visit. I greatly appreciated the numerous opportunities we had for exchange of views and dialogue”, Macron wrote.

He assessed that important foundations were laid during the visit for the further strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Montenegro and France.

Macron also pointed out that France will continue to support Montenegro in the final stage of the EU accession process.
