Kotor, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The formal ceremony of the European Order of Wine Knights – Legatura Montenegro was held in Kotor on Saturday, symbolically on the Day of Saint Tryphon, the patron saint of winemakers and vine growers, which is also marked as Wine Day in Montenegro.
This is one of the most important events of the Order, during which new members are admitted, decorations are awarded to distinguished individuals, and recognition is given to those whose work contributes to the preservation and promotion of wine culture, tradition, and European values.
The event was attended by members of the Order, distinguished guests from the country and abroad, as well as a delegation of the Senate of the European Order of Wine Knights, confirming the international importance and reputation enjoyed by Legatura Montenegro.
In the Christian tradition, 14 February is dedicated to Saint Tryphon, whose legacy the OEVE Legatura Montenegro nurtures through an initiative to establish this date as the national Wine Day.
The goal is to further promote Montenegro as a wine destination, provide support to domestic winemakers, and create opportunities for wine promotion through cultural and tourism activities.
