Inspectors issue €1.78 million in fines during peak tourist season

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the Government, inspectors deployed for the summer tourist season issued misdemeanour orders totalling €1.78 million during the first 15 days of July, bringing the total value of fines imposed since the pre-season period to approximately €2.5 million.

 

At a meeting of the Body for the Coordination and Monitoring of Inspection Oversight, chaired by Minister without Portfolio Milutin Butorovic, reports on inspection activities for June were adopted and amendments were approved to the decision establishing the Working Group for the Preparation and Monitoring of the Summer Tourist Season.

 

Members of the Coordination Body also reviewed the results of joint inspection operations carried out in Perast and Plav.

 

“The meeting also considered an initiative by the Montenegro Association of Real Estate Agencies, which called for closer intersectoral cooperation to combat illegal real estate brokerage,” the Government said in a press release.

 

Novica Mijovic of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and a member of the Coordination Body, briefed participants on the challenges facing maritime transport during the tourist season and the measures being taken to address them.

 

“The results of intensified inspections during the summer tourist season were reviewed, with the conclusion that coordinated inspection activities are delivering tangible results on the ground,” the press release reads.

 

The Coordination Body announced that intensified inspections would continue throughout the summer tourist season, with a focus on safeguarding the public interest.
