Global Game Jam successfully completed in Podgorica

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Global Game Jam 2026, successfully held in Podgorica, demonstrated how creative young talents can be when given space and support, the organizers announced.

Global Game Jam took place from Friday to Sunday at the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro, marking Podgorica’s inclusion in the global video game development network.

The event was implemented within the framework of the project CBC GAIN – Investing in the Future: Gaming for New Generations, which is carried out by the non-governmental organization ICT Cortex in Montenegro.

“This project is co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A IPA Programme Croatia–Bosnia and Herzegovina–Montenegro 2021–2027, with financial support from the Ministry of Regional and Investment Development and Cooperation with Non-Governmental Organizations,” ICT Cortex stated in a press release.

According to the press release, Global Game Jam is the world’s largest game creation hackathon, simultaneously connecting creatives in more than 100 countries around the globe. During 48 hours of intensive work, programmers, designers, artists, and video game enthusiasts from across Montenegro formed teams, tested ideas, developed initial game prototypes, and turned early concepts into functional, playable projects.
