General Collective Agreement extended by one month

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The General Collective Agreement has been extended until 30 April.

Without holding a formal Cabinet meeting and based on the consent of the majority of its members, the Government approved the extension of the General Collective Agreement today.

Such an agreement was reached by the Government, the Union of Free Trade Unions (USSCG), the Confederation of Trade Unions (SSCG), and the Employers’ Federation (UPCG).

The General Collective Agreement, which defines an important scope of labour rights, expired on 30 December last year, and on 31 December lawmakers amended the Labor Law to extend its validity until today.

Talks between social partners and the Prime Minister on a new General Collective Agreement have been ongoing for months, and the outcome of the negotiations is of key importance for improving the labour rights position of employees in Montenegro.
