Crackdown on unregistered accommodation in focus

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Minister and Head of the Coordination Body for the Alignment and Monitoring of Inspections, Milutin Butorovic, presented the Action Plan for the preparation and monitoring of this year’s summer tourist season to Prime Minister Milojko Spajic.

“The document is a roadmap for the systemic regulation of the tourism market, based on preventive measures, stronger coordination among competent authorities, and the digitalization of inspection monitoring,” the Office of the Minister without Portfolio said in a press release.

Butorovic noted that strengthening the Coordination Body at the institutional level enables better synchronization of all inspection services, reducing overlapping controls while increasing the efficiency of on-site supervision.

“The meeting particularly highlighted the need for a more decisive action against the informal economy, with a focus on suppressing unregistered accommodation, undeclared labour, as well as unregistered service providers in nautical and adventure tourism,” the press release reads.

It was also concluded that inspection supervision in coastal zones and national parks needs to be intensified.
