Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Through a strategic public partnership and within the framework of the Just Transition Plan through business transformation, Pljevlja Coalmine has launched an initiative to establish a procurement center that will distribute products from local farmers to retail chains.

Executive Director of Coalmine Nemanja Lakovic and owner of the company “Voli” Dragan Bokan discussed this initiative with farmers from Pljevlja.

Lakovic said that agriculture is one of the most strategically important development sectors for Pljevlja.

As he noted, aware of the importance of agriculture as well as the challenges producers face on a daily basis, Coalmine launched this initiative with the aim of ensuring the purchase of domestic agricultural products.

Bokan welcomed the plans of the Coalmine’s management, particularly highlighting the company’s social responsibility reflected in its support for agricultural producers in Pljevlja. 

The initiative met with full support from Pljevlja farmers, who said that it creates new opportunities to ensure that everything produced finds its place on the market.
