CEDIS invests over €35 million in power distribution grid

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS) invested more than € 35 million last year in the development of the power distribution network, recognizing the importance of safe and high-quality electricity supply to consumers.

“Compared to 2024, investments in the network increased by as much as €8 million, indicating the company’s efforts and commitment to achieving its planned objectives in line with the defined strategy,” CEDIS stated in a press release.

The company added that out of the total amount, nearly €12 million was invested solely in the secondary network (10 kV and 0.4 kV networks) under the responsibility of the Maintenance Sector, as one of the key tasks for ensuring quality supply.

“The largest portion of this amount, more than EUR 7 million, was spent on capital investment works aimed at increasing network capacity, replacing obsolete equipment, and installing new equipment,” the company explained.

CEDIS noted that, although the previous year began with unfavorable weather conditions for carrying out planned activities, nearly 11,000 poles and 541 kilometers of self-supporting bundled cable were successfully installed.
