Berane, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to Mayor of Berane Djole Lutovac, the valorization of the tourism potential of this municipality is at a very low level, and activities are planned to create a clear tourism development strategy and target key sectors.

“We do not have a clear strategy for the development of tourism in Berane, and we have initiated activities with the World Bank (WB) to develop one,” Lutovac said at a meeting of the Tourism and Hospitality Committee of the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG) held in Berane.

He noted that the strategy must begin with the construction of infrastructure as a fundamental prerequisite for the development of this sector.

Lutovac announced that efforts will be made to allocate €1 million from pre-accession funds for the construction of roads to Mokra and Cmiljevica mountains.

“Berane will target tourism and agriculture as key sectors in further development, and greater investments in these areas are planned,” Lutovac said.

The PKCG stated in a press release that the meeting focused on the valorization of the municipality’s tourist potential, the implementation of the summer tourist season, and preparations for the upcoming winter season.
