ACG Trade Union: Asset valuation must be complete and independent

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The valuation of the assets of the Airports of Montenegro (ACG) must be complete, independent, and publicly verifiable, representatives of the company’s union said.

“The process must be conducted with maximum transparency, verifiability, and institutional oversight, because this is a matter of the highest public interest, but also because there are perceptions and suspicions in the public that the process is being pushed to conclude in favour of the South Korean company Incheon International Airport Corporation,” the ACG Trade Union said in a press release.

The union welcomed the suggestion of Montenegro’s Protector of Property and Legal Interests, Bojana Cirovic, that the Ministry of Transport initiate the asset valuation process for ACG, as well as the fact that the Ministry had sent a request for valuation to the State Property Administration.

“We also welcome the initiative of the Chairman of the parliamentary Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget, Boris Mugosa, to hold a session with representatives of the Government and ACG, where all activities related to the concession would be reviewed. We expect all committee members to attend and demonstrate the level of responsibility this topic requires,” the union said.

They proposed that, in addition to the valuers engaged by the State Property Administration, additional independent valuers should be included to obtain the most precise possible assessment and the broadest professional consensus on the real value of ACG.
