88,000 tourists currently in Montenegro

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The National Tourism Organization (NTO) reported that, according to unofficial data from local tourist boards, 88,000 tourists were staying in Montenegro on Thursday, four percent more than during the same period last year.

 

The NTO stated in a press release that this is five percent more compared to 2019.

 

“The highest concentration of visitors was recorded in the coastal municipalities of Budva, Ulcinj, Herceg Novi, and Bar, which traditionally generate the most tourist arrivals during the peak summer season,” the statement said.

 

In terms of hotel accommodation, around 34,000 tourists are currently staying in Montenegrin hotels, roughly the same as last year. In private accommodation, 53,100 tourists have been registered, representing a 6.43 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

 

“Total revenues public revenues coming from this source, which includes the accommodation and tourist taxes as well as membership contributions, amounted to €3.24 million from the beginning of the year through 9 September, up three percent year on year,” the NTO stated.
