Podgorica, (MINA) - The Army of Montenegro (VCG) has canceled its participation in the international air exercise “INOCHIOS 26” in Greece, due to the Defense and Security Council’s failure to issue a decision on the participation of Army units in international exercises and training for this year, the Ministry of Defense announced.

The Ministry stated that the VCG airmen’s inability to participate with the Bell 412 helicopter in the exercise in Greece represents a missed opportunity to improve interoperability with allies and provide additional training for crews in complex tasks.

The Ministry warns that the cancellation of participation in international exercises, especially those organized by NATO allies, directly affects the VCG’s capabilities, combat readiness and level of training, and seriously undermines Montenegro’s credibility and reputation within NATO and partner initiatives.

It is stated that it is necessary for the chairman of the Council (President Jakov Milatovic) to convene a session as soon as possible, in order to enable the adoption of decisions crucial for combat readiness, the professional development of the Army members and the international reputation of Montenegro.
