SEP: Government should immediately sign the General Collective Agreement

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Representatives of the Party of European Progress (SEP) have called on the Government to stop populist manipulation and sign a new General Collective Agreement (GCA).

“We demand that the Government immediately stop its populist manipulation and sit down with the social partners to sign the GCA without delay, guaranteeing the rights of those who create added value in this country,” the SEP said in a press release.

They also expressed full support for trade unions in their fight for the urgent adoption of the GCA.

“Montenegro has been without a valid GCA since 30 April, which is an unprecedented legal and economic scandal. By doing so, the current Government has knowingly pushed the state and workers’ rights into a gray area,” SEP representatives stated.

They added that tens of thousands of employees and their families have been left without basic legal protection and workplace security.
