Podgorica, (MINA) - Montenegro supports the efforts of its allies and partners aimed at calming tensions in the Middle East, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MVP) said, condemning, what it described as, Iran’s unprovoked attacks on neighboring Gulf countries.
The MFA announced that they are closely monitoring the developments in the Middle East with concern, warning that they pose serious security and humanitarian risks.
Montenegro, as they stated, supports the views and initiatives of its allies and partners aimed at reducing tensions, protecting civilians and preserving stability.
“We advocate for the continuation of diplomatic initiatives and respect for international humanitarian law. In this context, we strongly condemn Iran’s unprovoked attacks on the neighboring Gulf countries, which only further complicate the situation and threaten the stability of the entire region”, said the MFA.
The Ministry said that they continue coordination with EU and NATO partners, with a special focus on protecting the interests and security of Montenegrin citizens.
“Montenegro remains committed to peace and multilateral cooperation and calls for deescalation, restraint and dialogue as the only sustainable path to long-term stability in the region”, the MFA added in the press release.
