Podgorica, (MINA) – The Parliament of Montenegro will remain in continuous session until the end of the year, in order to meet all goals set within the EU accession process, said Speaker of the Parliament Andrija Mandic.
According to the Parliament’s press release, Mandic met on Wednesday with Director General of the European Commission’s Directorate General Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations Gert Jan Koopman.
Mandic pointed out that the current parliamentary convocation has achieved historic results, stressing that nearly 400 laws have been adopted, of which close to 170 were marked with a “blue flag”, as being of key importance to Montenegro’s EU integration process.
Mandic said that the parliament would work responsibly and diligently during this year, which has been defined as crucial for Montenegro’s EU accession.
He said that the Parliament will remain in constant session until the end of the year, in order to achieve all the set goals.
Koopman, according to the press release, said that the Parliament had a significant workload and welcomed Mandic’s readiness to organize extraordinary sessions whenever necessary, in order to make the best possible use of the available time.
He said that all actors must play their part if Montenegro is to fulfill its ambitious plan of closing the negotiations by the end of the year.
