Podgorica, (MINA) – The announced labor market reform has served as a pretext for the public lynching of Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Dialogue Naida Nisic, and instead of a reasoned debate, brutal personal insults were witnessed in the digital space.
This was stated by Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorcevic, Minister of Education, Science and Innovation Andjela Jaksic Stojanovic and Minister of Public Works Majda Adzovic.
“Firmly believing that these legislative changes will serve as another successful step on our European path, we wish to make it clear that political debate is the foundation of every democracy, while the vocabulary of the street is synonymous with an insecure and underdeveloped society”, the press release says.
Gorcevic, Jaksic Stojanovic and Adzovic stated that, as colleagues who witness Nisic’s professionalism and commitment on daily basis, they strongly condemn the brutal insults and misogynistic attacks to which she has been exposed simply because she conscientiously performs her duties.
The three ministers called on the competent institutions to urgently review the elements of responsibility of the individuals who brutally insulted and belittled Nisic, emphasizing that freedom of speech must not serve as a cover for violence in the digital space.
