Podgorica, (MINA) – The status of the Serbian language, the adoption of the laws on dual citizenship and state symbols remain among the key political priorities of the Democratic People’s Party (DNP), party leader Milan Knezevic said in Washington.

Knezevic and DNP MP Vladislav Bojovic are on a working visit to Washington, where they met with Mark Ivanyo, president of the Republican National Renewal, a faction within the Republican Party close to the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump.

According to DNP, the current political and social challenges facing Montenegro were discussed.

“A special emphasis was placed on the preservation of national, spiritual and cultural identity, with the assessment that traditional values ​​are currently under strong pressures from various anarcho-liberal ideological concepts which, under the influence of the remnants of the so-called deep state in Europe and Montenegro, seek to change the identity foundations of society”, the press release states.

Knezevic pointed out that solving the most important identity issues remains among the key political priorities of the DNP, above all ensuring the official and equal status of the Serbian language in Montenegro.

As stated, during the visit to Washington, which is organized under the slogan “Let’s make Montenegro a great country again”, the DNP delegation made contacts with international partners who, according to the party, support the promotion of values ​​based on family, faith, freedom, hope and healthy life principles.
