Public EV charging stations in Podgorica soon

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the local administration, Podgorica will get its first public electric vehicle charging stations soon.

“The charging stations will be installed on two locations in the city, at the intersection of Njegoseva and Vucedolska streets and in the parking garage behind the Masa restaurant,”  says a press release issued by the Capital City.

The installation of the first EV charging stations is part of the project “Towards Carbon Neutral Tourism in Montenegro,” implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in cooperation with the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, with the financial support of the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

Within the framework of the project, the charging stations will also be installed in Budva, Bijelo Polje, Kolasin, Cetinje and Zabljak, as well as in the National Park of Lake Skadar.

“The use of public charging stations will be free of charge during the first year, after which period the service providers will decide on the terms and conditions for charging the electric cars,” the press release says.

The procurement of the charging stations is financed by the UNDP, while the local administrations are in charge of preparing the locations, maintaining the stations and providing the charging services. Longer version of article is available on a link MINA ENGLISH SERVIS
