Mediteran complex in Zabljak to be leased

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Privatization and Capital Investment Council has proposed to the Government to sign a long-term lease agreement for the former military resort “Mediteran” in Zabljak with the consortium of the Zabljak-based CG Ski and Estonia’s Baltic International Trading.

“The Government has been proposed to adopt a report on the results of negotiations related to the international call for tenders for a long-term lease of Mediteran, and a decision to lease the land, as well as to authorize Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism, Pavle Radunovic, to sign an adequate agreement,” says a press release issued by the Government.

The call for tenders had been launched in December 2013, while the bidding deadlines were extended several times.

“The consortium of the Zabljak-based CG Ski and Estonia’s Baltic International Trading applied to the new call, launched on 13 September 2017, on the basis of a new tender dossier, and its bid has passed formal evaluation,” the press release says, adding that the bidding process was followed by negotiations with the bidder.

The main elements of the proposed agreement include a 30-year lease of the resort covering an area of 13,950 square metres at the fixed price of €1.01 per square metre a year, to be paid in advance,  and the fixed lease payment also to be paid in advance for the first five years.

The agreement says that a variable lease payment amounts to five percent of the revenues collected in a financial year, while an investment programme includes the construction of a five-star resort, worth €5.4 million, within 27 months.
