Judgment on Tara devastation to be reserved until final conclusions and decisions are presented

Podgorica, (MINA) – The Tara riverbed has not been dislocated and the river is not endangered completely by construction of Bar-Boljare motorway, Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism Pavle Radulovic reiterated, adding that judgment on this issue should be reserved until the decisions and conclusion of the experts made based on the UNESCO report are presented.

At the press conference following the government’s session, asked why he was silent regarding UNESCO report on Tara, which the NGO sector sees as negative, Radulovic responded that he did not like to present facts which are not scientifically determined.

He remarked that a group of experts will reach conclusions and decision based on the report in Baku on 10 July.

“I claimed in November last year and I claim even today that the Tara riverbed has not been dislocated, that the river is not fully endangered, that we will not be removed from the Man and the Biosphere Program list”, said Radulovic.

He added that he has never said that construction of the motorway did not affect Tara.

“We have claimed that the effect is local and mostly temporary, and that part of the remaining effects have absolutely no effects on the protected part of the river Tara”, Radulovic emphasized.

He added that a press conference will be organized after 10 July in which the documents and conclusions adopted in Baku will be presented.Longer version of article is available on a link MINA ENGLISH SERVIS
