Five companies qualify as contractors

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the Ministry of Economy, five companies involved in the installation of modern biomass heating systems, exterior thermal insulation and energy efficient doors and windows have qualified as contractors for the Energy Efficient Home programme.

“After the evaluation of bids submitted following a public call, which was open until 15 September, the companies  Mikromont, Home Systems, Plam inzenjering, Veneta plamen and Roaming Montenegro have acquired the status of qualified contractors,” the Ministry told Mina-business agency.

The Ministry reminds that it launched a public call on 15 August, inviting the distributors, installers and construction companies to participate in the Energy Home Programme. In addition, the Ministry invited all banks operating in Montenegro to express their interest in this programme.

“A total of 14 companies submitted a request for tender dossiers, while seven banks expressed interest in taking part in the programme”, the Ministry says in a press release.

The project was launched on 12 October, offering the citizens an opportunity to apply for up to 6-year interest-free loans of up to €8,000 in order to implement energy efficiency measures at their homes.

“The citizens are obliged to repay the principle, while the banks will received the total amount of interest and fees from the Ministry, the press release says.

Within the framework of this programme, the citizens may apply for the interest-free loans with Lovcen banka, Prva banka and Atlas banka, which are the partners in the implementation of this programme.

The Ministry says that the citizens’ interest in the Energy Efficient Home project has exceeded its expectations, adding that all partners to the programme receive dozens of calls every day.
