Zivkovic: DPS will submit interpellation on Government’s handling of security
Podgorica, (MINA) – The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) will submit an interpellation to the Parliament to review the Government’s performance in the area of security, interior affairs, defense and the fight against organized crime, the party leader, Danijel Zivkovic, has announced.
He told the press conference in the Parliament that the interpellation mainly concerns the work of the coordinator of all security services and Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Becic, adding that it will be offered to all ruling parties.
Zivkovic said that Montenegro has been destroyed by the actions of an irresponsible and malicious parliamentary majority, and that, along with the economy and the healthcare, the most destroyed sector is security.
He criticized the reaction of national institutions during the August wildfires, but also the response of the security services to the installation of the monument to Pavle Djurisic in Zaostro.
“I claim that the National Security Agency had all information a few days before that the monument would be installed, and that the Police Directorate did nothing in this regard”, said Zivkovic.
He said that the state’s response to “almost daily” criminal gang murders on Montenegrin streets is catastrophic.
“We will offer the interpellation to all ruling parties because we expect them to understand that the role of the opposition is, above all, to exercise oversight and that we use these mechanisms to discuss these topics in the Parliament”, said Zivkovic.
