Podgorica, (MINA) - Montenegro needs a reliable pro-European government that will systematically address accumulated problems and complete the integration process, said Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) MP Aleksandra Vukovic Kuc, adding that the DPS will not make harmful political arrangements or opportunistic compromises for the sake of the appearance of power.

In an interview with the Pobjeda daily, Vukovic Kuc said that the party has already received various attractive offers and that they are absolutely not interested in any arrangement that does not include a package for the stabilization and safe European integration of Montenegro.

She stated that everything that is happening confirms the existence of a serious crisis within the parliamentary majority at all levels.

Vukovic Kuc assessed that the Government, even though it still formally has the necessary numbers of MPs, is in a serious crisis that generates new problems every day.

“The diagnosis is clear and we have been referring to it for a long time: this is a dysfunctional parliamentary majority that is accustoming society to a state of permanent crisis and which cannot bring the country into the EU”, Vukovic Kuc said.

She added that Montenegro needs a reliable and stable pro-European oriented government that will systematically address the accumulated problems, complete the integration process and initiate a phase of intensive development after five years of stagnation, stressing that such a government cannot exist without DPS and their traditional partners.

Asked whether the DPS sees the withdrawal of the DNP from the government and the ruling majority in Podgorica as an opportunity to enter the executive power, or whether they think that it is more responsible to remain in the opposition, Vukovic Kuc said that it is certain that the DPS will not make harmful political arrangements or opportunistic compromises for the sake of the appearance of power.
