Podgorica, (MINA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MVP) announced the arrival of the aircraft from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday, highlighting that their support to Montenegro in the fight against wildfires is a confirmation of international solidarity.

The MFA thanked all international partners, local services and citizens who made an immeasurable contribution to extinguishing fires that have affected multiple regions of Montenegro in recent days.

“On the ground, side by side with local services, are operationg specialized units from Austria, Switzerland, Italy, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary”, the press release says.

It is emphasized that their expertise, equipment and solidarity represent invaluable support to Montenegro in these challenging moments.

MFA thanked all countries and teams that responded to the call and swiftly provided assistance to Montenegro.

“At the same time, we express our great respect for all local services – firefighters, members of the Army, police and volunteers – who have been making selfless efforts to protect the lives of citizens, their property and the country’s natural wealth”, the press release said.

The MFA also paid tribute to the tragically killed VCG member, Dejan Bozovic, whose sacrifice, as they said, underscores the importance to continue together.
