Towards a society that respects workers’ rights and dignity

Towards a society that respects workers’ rights and dignity

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro (USSCG) has called on the public, employers, and decision-makers to work together to create a society in which every worker has the right to safe, fair, and decent work.

On the occasion of World Day for Decent Work, observed today, USSCG stated that decent work is not a privilege – it is a fundamental human right.

“This means work performed under safe conditions, with respect for labour rights, fair wages, social protection, opportunities for personal and professional development, as well as the right to freedom of trade union organization and collective bargaining,” USSCG stated in a press release.

According to the Union, it is crucial to ensure that the decent work remains at the center of all economic and social policies in a time when the world faces corporatism, economic uncertainties, rising living costs, insecure forms of employment, and digitalization that is reshaping the labour market.

USSCG reminded that a stable and just society cannot exist without workers who are protected, respected, and adequately rewarded for their contributions to the community.
