SEP councilors to support initiative to shorten Capital City Assembly’s mandate

SEP councilors to support initiative to shorten Capital City Assembly’s mandate

Podgorica, (MINA) – Councilors of the Party of European Progress (SEP) will support the initiative to shorten the mandate of the Capital City Assembly, the party announced, stating that elections are the only fair solution to the political and institutional crisis in Podgorica.

The initiative to shorten the mandate of the local parliament was submitted last week by the councilors group of the European Alliance in the Capital City Assembly.

The SEP stated in a press release that the dismissal of the irresponsible government, which has lost the legitimacy and caused a deep political and institutional crisis, is a political priority for that party.

“Therefore, we support the initiative to shorten the Assembly’s mandate, regardless of the fact that it was submitted without consultation within the opposition, without the sense of the need to build opposition unity, whose goal should be recovery of Podgorica and Montenegro as a whole”, said the SEP.
