Saranovic: Interpellation is not an attack on Becic, but on entire security sector

Podgorica, (MINA) – The interpellation announced by the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) is not an attack on Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Bucic, but on the security sector which is no longer under their control, the Democrats’ official and Minister of Internal Affairs Danilo Saranovic has announced.

DPS leader Danijel Zivkovic announced earlier on Tuesday that his party would submit an interpellation to the Parliament to review the Government’s security performance, focusing primarily on Becic, who coordinates all security services.

In his response, Saranovic stated that the interpellation is “a written confession of fear from institutions that no longer bow to organized crime”.

“This is the announcement of the interpellation that is requested because of the information we presented regarding the murder of Goran Zugic and others who, based on the information I made known to the public, were killed by the state”, Saranovic said.

He said that the DPS MPs, who are submitting the interpellation, previously had signed requests for the release of Zoran Lazovic, a man whom he described as a symbol of the two-decade transformation of the security services into private branches of the worst criminal clans in the Balkans.

“That’s why I claim that this interrogation is not an attack on Becic, who strongly supports vetting in the security sector, this is an attack on everything that is no longer under their control. An attack on the sector that is free for the first time”, Saranovic claims.

He said that “they will not overthrow Becic”.

“You will not stop me, nor (Dragan) Krapovic. You will not stop the truth and you will not stop the state that has decided never to be the servant of evil again”, Saranovic said.
