Radovic: CBCG a reliable partner in safeguarding stability and European standards

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Governor the Central Bank (CBCG) Irena Radovic said that CBCG is fully committed to implementing reforms and integrating into the European financial system, announced.

She met with Jeroen Clicq, Executive Director of the Belgian-Dutch Constituency at the IMF, to discuss the results achieved in the previous period, priorities for the next period and key challenges facing the CBCG.

“Strengthening financial stability, modernization of CBCG in line with Eurosystem central banks and the nearby implementation of the first SEPA transactions confirm that we are heading decisively towards membership in the European System of Central Banks,” said Radovic.

She expressed confidence that, by working closely with IMF and our other international partners, Montenegro will deliver the results rightfully expected from both our citizens and businesses.

Clicq welcomed the reform path taken by the CBCG and its strong commitment to European integration, highlighting that the CBCG significantly contributes to Montenegro’s overall EU integration process.

“The impressive results of the Governor and the CBCG team show that the CBCG is resolutely moving towards realising its vision – integration into the European financial area and the Single Euro Payments Area now, before full EU membership,” he said.

According to the press release from the CBCG, Clicq added that the IMF will continue to support the reform processes and the CBCG's ambitious reform agenda.
