Qualified opinion on the financial and compliance audit of Barska Plovidba

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The State Audit Institution (DRI) issued a qualified opinion on the financial statements and compliance audit of the operations of Barska Plovidba for 2024.

“The financial audit of the annual financial statements of Barska Plovidba for 2024 found that misstatements in the 2024 financial reports, individually or in aggregate, are materially significant but not pervasive to the financial statements; accordingly, the competent panel issued a qualified opinion on the financial audit,” DRI stated in a press release published on its website.

According to the press release, the company did not record in its accounting books the value of artworks, items, photo archive content, and library materials listed by the Inventory Commission for intangible investments and fixed assets.

The company also failed to provide documentation related to the valuation of this type of property. It was recommended that, after determining the value of such assets, the company record them in its accounts and present them in the financial statements.

“The compliance audit of the annual financial statements of Barska Plovidba for 2024 found that the company did not fully align its business activities with laws and other regulations.” the SAI said.

Deviations and non-compliance were identified with the laws on labour, management and internal controls in the public sector, state property, accounting, obligations, and the Rulebook on the chart of accounts and account content for companies registered to perform business activities and other legal entities.

The cases of non-compliance, individually or collectively, have a material but not pervasive effect in relation to the established audit criteria for compliance, based on which the DRI panel issued a qualified opinion on the compliance audit.
