Protest to be held outside former Morinj POW camp on Friday

Protest to be held outside former Morinj POW camp on Friday

Podgorica, (MINA) – The Association of Montenegrin Veterans of the 1990s Wars and the Miholjski Zbor will organize a protest rally on Friday in Morinj, citing, as stated in a press release, a three-year obstruction of the removal of the memorial plaque dedicated to inmates of the former Center for the Reception of Prisoners of War.

“Tomorrow, a protest rally will take place in front of the military facility in Morinj, where an illegal memorial plaque (with an extremely problematic inscription) has been installed to honor the inmates of the former Collection Center for the Reception of Prisoners of War”, the press release says.

It is stated that the reason of the rally is the obstruction of the removal of the memorial plaque.

“The reason for the public rally is the three-year obstruction of the removal of the disputed memorial plaque in Morinj in accordance with the decision of the competent inspection. It followed the ultimatum of Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Gordan Grlic Radman, to the Government of Montenegro that the memorial plaque must remain as it is”, the press release reads.
