Police searches for Milos Medenica

Podgorica, (MINA) – Police Administration officers are searching for Milos Medenica, who was sentenced on Wednesday, in first instance ruling, to ten years and two months in prison.

As Vijesti unofficially learns from the Police Administration, officers found Medenica at his residence during a routine check on Tuesday, but he could not be found at the same address on Wednesday evening.

The Podgorica High Court delivered on Wednesday a verdict against the criminal group led, according to the Special Prosecutor’s Office’s indictment, by Milos Medenica, whose mother, former Supreme Court President Vesna Medenica, was also charged as a group member.

Following the conviction, Milos Medenica was ordered into custody due to flight risk.

He had been released from custody on October 17 last year, and placed under house arrest, as three years without first-instant ruling had passed.

Vesna Medenica was sentenced to ten years in prison for two counts of unlawful influence involving bribery and influencing court rulings, while she has been acquitted of the charge of creating a criminal organization.

She was placed under house arrest and her passport was confiscated.

Milos Medenica was sentenced to ten years and two months for creating a criminal organization, smuggling, two counts of aiding unlawful influence, as well as obstructing the evidence collection.

He was acquitted of charges of illegal weapon possession and enabling drug use by multiple individuals.
