The police are searching for the individuals who attacked journalist crews in the village of Gornje Zaostro, the Police Administration has annunced, adding that, if any omissions in the conduct of police officers are established, they will be addressed in accorance with the law.

Photojournalists Stevo Vasiljevic of the Pobjeda daily and Boris Pejovic of Vijesti were attacked on Friday while reporting on the relocation of the monument to Pavle Djurisic.

The Police Administration stated that the officers of the Regional Security center “North” are taking urgent measures to identify, locate and prosecute the those responsible for the attack.

“The attacked journalists are currently giving statements, as are other reporters present during the incident and other witnesses”, the press release stated.

The Police Administration added that additional activities have been underway to establish the circumstances of this incident, in coordination with the competent Prosecutor’s Office.

“The Police Administration strongly condemns the attack on journalist”, the press release adds.
