Podgorica, (MINA) – Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandic has scheduled an extraordinary session of Parliament for September 15, at which the proposal for the election of Mirjana Vucinic as a Constitutional Court judge will be considered.
Mandic scheduled the extraordinary session, which is set to begin at 11 a.m., at the suggestion of the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatovic.
Last week, Milatovic submitted a request for an extraordinary session, to consider Vucinic’s election.
The president’s office stated on that occasion that the passive attitude of the Parliament, when it comes to filling all vacant judicial positions in the Constitutional Court, further deepens the constitutional crisis, undermines the rule of law and slows down Montenegro’s European path.
During the regular spring session, Parliament failed to consider the proposal for the election of Vucinic, which Milatovic submitted in mid-May.
