Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Agricultural Cluster of Montenegro has procured a mulcher for clearing shrubs and vegetation through the Rural Development Service Project, implemented under the YOUSEED programme.
The programme is implemented by the Italian nongovernmental organization COSV, in partnership with the Local Democracy Agency (LDA) and the Montenegro Rural Development Network, with co-financing from the Ministry of Public Administration.
According to President of the Agricultural Cluster of Montenegro Bosko Milicic, this equipment is of great importance for villages and rural areas, as it will enable farmers to maintain land more easily, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
“For the time being, the machine will be available free of charge to young farmers, women, and vulnerable groups in the municipalities of Niksic, Savnik, Pluzine, Zabljak, and Pljevlja,” Milicic stated in a press release.
The goal is to provide rural communities with concrete resources and support to improve production, increase income, and create conditions for sustainable development.
“This is an important step toward preserving villages, strengthening the local economy, and creating new opportunities for young people,” he said.
The ten-month project also includes training workshops, promotion of the social economy, and a final presentation aimed at adopting a Declaration on the Development of the Rural Social Economy in Montenegro.
