Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The average net salary in Montenegro amounted to €1,030 in April, 0.2 percent more than in March.

According to the Statistical Office, the average net salary increased by 2 percent compared to last year’s corresponding period. 

The average gross salary reached €1,230 in April.

“Given that, compared with March, the consumer prices increased by 1.4 percent in April, the real wages in Montenegro decreased by 1.2 percent in this period,” Monstat said in a press release. 

In April, average net salaries increased in the fields of agriculture, forestry and fisheries, electricity and gas supply and air conditioning, other services, financial and insurance services, healthcare and social welfare, processing industry, wholesale and retail trade, maintenance of motor vehicles and motorcycles, transport and warehousing, art, entertainment and recreation, mining and quarrying, information and communications, water supply and wastewater management, process control, waste disposal and similar activities.

In the same period, average net salaries decreased in the fields of civil engineering, real estate, public administration and defence: mandatory social insurance, professional, scientific and technical activities, administrative and supporting services, accommodation and food services.
