Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to Monstat, a total of 4,840 foreign vessels used for leisure, sport and recreation entered Montenegro’s territorial sea last year.

The Statistical Office said that 4,280 vessels arrived by sea, while 552 were transported by land.

“According to the type of foreign vessels for leisure, sport and recreation, the largest share entering Montenegro’s territorial sea were sailing yachts (42.7 percent), followed by motor yachts (40.9 percent) and other types of vessels (16.4 percent),” Monstat said in a press release.

The number of people who arrived on these vessels last year totaled 25,800.

By nationality, the largest number of people were from the United Kingdom (10.9 percent), followed by Germany (6 percent), Croatia (5.8 percent), Italy (3.9 percent), the United States (3.7 percent), France (2.5 percent), Austria (1.6 percent), Scandinavian countries (1.5 percent), Slovenia (1.1 percent), and other countries (63.1 percent).
