Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Ministry of Tourism expects high-quality projects that will enhance the tourist experience in Montenegro under its public call for proposals for support aimed at developing smart and sustainable tourist destinations through digital and innovative solutions.
Director General of the Directorate for EU Integration, International Funds and Digitalization Ivana Bulatovic said the Ministry introduced support for digitalization this year as part of its incentive measures.
“Same as every year, the Ministry of Tourism implemented its incentive programme worth €1.35 million. Through seven support measures, we identified different needs within the tourism sector. To our great satisfaction, digitalization was recognized this year under Measure No. 4,” Bulatovic told Mina-business.
She explained that, since this is the first call of its kind, there are numerous challenges, but the Ministry wanted to send a message that individuals can make a difference through their contributions.
“Digitalization is only a tool, not the ultimate goal. Our ultimate goal is a sustainable destination that tourists return to. Digitalization serves as a bridge between technology and emotion, because tourism without emotion means nothing. To create a complete experience for tourists, it is important to personalize services according to their needs and offer something authentic and different,” Bulatovic said.
According to her, digitalization is also a tool that enables local communities to tell their stories and leave a global footprint.
