Podgorica, (MINA) – President of Montenegro Jakov Milatovic sent letters of thanks to the leaders of countries that assisted Montenegro in the fight against recent wildfire.

According to the press release from his office, the letters were addressed to the presidents of Croatia, Serbia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Austria and Switzerland, Zoran Milanović, Aleksandar Vucic, Tamas Sulyok, Petr Pavel, Alexander Van der Bellen and Karin Keller-Sutter, as well as to the members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Becirovic, Zeljka Cvijanoviv and Zeljko Komsic.

Milatovic stated in the letters that Montenegro has faced a major environmental and social disaster over the past ten days.

“Montenegro, although proud and strong in spirit, cannot cope alone with challenges of this scale”, said Milatovic.

“Please allow me to express my sincere gratitude for your assistance”, said Milatovic.
