Mandic: Government leading strong fight against organized crime and corruption

Podgorica, (MINA) – The current government in Montenegro is leading a strong and courageous fight against organized crime and corruption, Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandic said.

According to a Parliament’s press release, Mandic addressed on Tuesday the 18th Conference of Speakers of the Parliaments of Small European States in the Parliament of Cypress, speaking on the role of small states in a time of global instability.

Mandic noted that in the recent period, the Parliament implemented key judicial reforms, but expressed dissatisfaction with the judiciary overall performance.

He said that the judiciary continues to operate according to the rules which, as he stated, through the conduct of many individuals, resemble than of the former regimes.

“We are carrying out legal oversight and we are striving to change this model of functioning in the judiciary so it can focus more strongly and responsibly on the fight against criminal clans”, emphasized Mandic.
