Podgorica, (MINA) – Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandic said that former Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Vesna Bratic, who was arrested on Monday morning in an operation of the Special Police Department, was treated like a criminal.

At the end of Parliament’s extraordinary session, Mandic said that they everyone wants the law to apply equally to all and that all citizens should be available to justice.

“Today the whole of Montenegro could see today how a former minister of education, a university professor and PhD, Vesna Bratic, is being treated – handcuffed like an ordinary criminal”, said Mandic.

He expressed his personal solidarity with Bratic, adding that Montenegro is a small country where everyone knows each other.

“If anyone abuses the power, and we’ll see how this prosecution ends, they will have the same fate as those who once easily handcuffed others, and were later handcuffed themselves”, said Mandic.
